The development of the BVHGroup from 2000 to the present day

2000: Founded

BVH GmbH was founded in May 2000. Its initial focus was on importing bitumen from Poland into the European Union. Its first customers were primarily companies in the road and asphalt construction sectors.

It became apparent at an early stage that BVH’s strength lay not only in the bitumen trade, but particularly in its ability to flexibly mitigate market disruptions and supply bottlenecks. This expertise also proved to be a key factor in the company’s success in other markets and regions.

Subsequently, sales activities were gradually expanded to cover all federal states.

2023 Growth

As the company continued to grow, new supply contracts were signed with refineries in Germany. At the same time, BVH invested in the digitalisation of its processes and introduced a fully integrated SAP system – including direct links to haulage contractors and partner companies.

In addition, a strong network of manufacturers of polymer-modified bitumen products (PmB) has been established, which today enables the BVH to enjoy a high level of security of supply and flexibility.

In 2023, Bitumen Danmark A/S, a joint venture between BVH and Leon Skovbo, commenced operations in the Nordic countries. Another milestone is the planned commissioning of a bitumen terminal with a storage capacity of 15,000 tonnes of bitumen in 2028.

2026 Present

Today, BVH handles around 250,000 tonnes of products per year in Germany and neighbouring European markets.
On 1 January 2026, ect GmbH was merged into BVH GmbH. The former ect GmbH specialises in the development and implementation of solutions for the efficient use of flux oils – a by-product of waste oil processing.

By integrating these areas of expertise, BVH is specifically expanding its service portfolio to include sustainable and resource-efficient approaches in the field of raw material recovery and the circular economy.
At the same time, the company is actively addressing the challenges of the energy transition and is constantly working on solutions to meet its customers’ changing requirements.

As a specialist in bitumen and SBS, BVH is a reliable partner for asphalt producers in Germany and Europe.

Autumn 2026: Expansion of BVHGroup & PolyChem

Stronger together. By focusing on sustainability, the circular economy and the further processing of flux oils, we create new value.
